Udemy UGR – FAA Recurrent Remote Pilot Exam Preparation course description

I am a 107 certified drone pilot, like you. There are many drone study courses taught by CFIs (Cerfified Flight Instructors) and experienced pilots.  They have good courses, but CFI’s and Part 61 pilots take their drone test online. They don’t see the exam that we do. I teach from YOUR level, in terms YOU understand and relate to, because that’s how I had to learn it.  I know what you need to know about as a drone operator. I teach understanding . Understanding is the key to knowledge, and knowledge is the foundation of safety.  I’m certified as an instructor for public safety by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and I passed the FAA’s Fundamentals of Instruction as well. I also passed the student pilot Ground School exam. Because of my unique background, and the way I write my courses, my students are prepared to score better on FAA exams.  Your goal is to understand what you need to know to pass the FAA exam. I will help you achieve that goal. That being said, 14 CFR Part 107.73 section (b) specifies the knowledge areas that will be required to pass the recurrent FAA exam for Remote Pilots (UGR). The exam will contain 40 questions, rather than the 60 questions in the initial certification test, with 90 minutes to complete the exam this time, at an authorized testing facility (PRI/CATS). Authorization for the UGR test: Requires NO instructor endorsement or other form of written authorization. Acceptable form of authorization for the UGR test: Remote Pilot Certificate with a Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) rating. The seven areas of material for the UGR exam are: (1) Applicable regulations relating to small unmanned aircraft system rating privileges, limitations, and flight operation; (2) Airspace classification and operating requirements and flight restrictions affecting small unmanned aircraft operation; (3) Emergency procedures; (4) Crew resource management; (5) Aeronautical decision-making and judgment; (6) Airport operations; (7) Maintenance and pre-flight inspection procedures. While this new course is designed to prepare Certified Remote Pilots for the Recurrent Certification (UGR) test, this course is not represented as official FAA Training (there aren’t any), and the FAA does not provide actual test answers to instructors.  The material presented in my course comes from FAA publications. Since you have already earned your remote pilot certification, this course should serve as a review. If you need to dig deeper into a particular area you may be weak on, we would refer you to the Pilot’s Handbook, our original video training course or my UAS 107 Operator Ground School Study Guild e-Book available at Amazon. If you have the report from when you took your initial certification test, look for the PLT numbers listed. Those codes tell you what you need to study most. You can reference the PLT codes here: This training course is based on information from the FAA’s Airman Certification Standards, uas_acs-10A (revised 6/18), the Remote Pilot Study Guide and the indicated publicly available resources.
